Etymology And Traditions
FELLOW NIGERIANS.
As far as history, lexicography and etymological semantics is concerned, the word Religion was derived from the root word of the Latin word "Religare" which means to "Bind", "Control" or "Enslave".
Any religious person is subjected to various forms of slavery and must surely disown his/her indigenousity before he could appear better before the yardstick of that very Religion.
The moment you begin to ask yourself these pulsating questions like:
1. Why is there no angel with an African name but all the angels has European names like: Holy Aunty Gabriel, Mimi Brother Uriel, Anointed Raphael and Blessed Uncle Michael.
2. Why do we get baptized and loose our indigenous African names only to be replaced With western names like: John, Margaret, Theresa, Mark, Luke and Theophilus. So if I retain my indigenous name which bears the name of ChukwuOkike in any of our indigenous languages as African/Igbos; then I am not worthy of the salvation of uncle Jesus Abi? This was even commanded in their bible in Numbers 6 vs27- yet they fail the command of their own bible.
3. Why do African reverence another continent as their holyland and disregarding the indigenous ancestoral land of mother Africa. For example, a Christian believes that Rome(Basilica) is holy (Catholic);, England is holy to (Anglicans), Pentecostals and Judaism practitioners believes that Israel is blessed, and none of our motherland is worthy of pilgrimage as our Moslem brothers boost the income of Saudi Arabia yearly for Umrah and Hajj as Mecca and Medina is now holier than the four walls of motherland Africa.
4. Why do Africans value olive oil which the Europeans use only for cooking and we even consider it holy because we are told it was from Israel and we neglect our our Ojukwu Oil( Palm oil) and Kernel oil (ude aki), not knowing this entire Olive oil is actually coming from Spain and look at what we had done to their economy.
5. Why do we Reverence the mustard seed even when there is zero spiritual significance of it but we pay higher amount of money to have it instead of our Almighty Alligator 🐊 pepper which is far more efficacious.
6. Why do we observe All Souls day yearly in which we remember mostly the so called European saints whereas any discussion to reverence the ancestors of Africa is considered idolatry.
7. Why do we clap for Judah and David as holy people but immediately I mention Okeke, Okafor, Adamgbo; we frown and tag them as ancestral curses.
These are the Questions I would love to discuss with you if you permit it as my years of Experience and Evidences as a pastor/prophet can attest to these nonsenses which we were indoctrinated to, and possibly create an enabling environment where we can begin to ask questions without one tagging it as blasphemy.
Remember, The Bible said in Job chapter 8 vs 8 that Africans should go and ask their forefathers and they will tell us what they have learnt.
Wake up oh Ye Africans.
